THE SITUATION
A big chain of restaurants had closed one of its locations and our client that owned the building acquired our services to conduct a comprehensive asbestos survey and mold assessment. The building had been vacant for months and the condition was deemed uninhabitable. During this project A-Tech’s field personnel was in full PPE (North Half Face Respirator, Gloves Steel Toe Boots, Tyvek suits, Hard hats and eye protection).
THE SOLUTION
A-Tech conducted the comprehensive asbestos survey with a SCAQMD Procedure No. 5 in mind due to some of the building materials being damaged prior to the inspection (None of the damaged materials wound up coming back positive but we always assess every situation with the intent of full regulatory compliance). During the assessment portion for mold, there were numerous locations where fungal growth was present. A-Tech made sure that all fungal impacted areas were clearly delineated in our recommendations within our assessment report.
