LATE-NIGHT CALL
At 2:00am, A-Tech was called upon by our client to respond to a sewage main overflow into a built-out trench where new utilities were going to be installed. During routine install of telephone poles, a utility company struck the sewage main causing the overflow of 100’s of gallons of blackwater. Bare soil with abandoned utilities were within the trench when A-Tech arrived on the site.
HANDLING THE SITUATION
A-Tech conducted a sewage assessment of the trench and all areas impacted by the black water sewage overflow. Swab sewage screen sampling for Total Coliform, E. Coli and Entercocci, sectioning off areas of contamination and a full workplan of remedial actions were conducted. A-Tech oversaw the entire decontamination process and visual clearance and final sewage sampling.
