My Journey of Growth and Success at A-Tech

When I first joined A-Tech, I never imagined I’d be where I am today. Looking back on my journey—three years and eight months later—I realize how much I’ve grown, both professionally and personally. But if you had asked me at the beginning where I saw myself in this industry, my honest answer would have been: This isn’t for me.

Taking a Leap into the Unknown

Coming out of the uncertainty of COVID-19, I knew I needed a stable career to support my family. In the summer of 2020, I decided to take a chance and enrolled in certification courses at Ecologics Training Institute. I had no idea what to expect—or if I’d even enjoy the work—but I pushed forward. After earning my Contract/Supervisor, BIC, and NIOSH certifications, I started my job search.

A-Tech was the first company I applied to, but I wasn’t selected. Disappointed but not discouraged, I gained experience elsewhere and continued developing my skills. Six months later, with the encouragement of a former A-Tech employee who spoke highly of the company’s training practices, I reapplied and was hired as a Field Technician Trainee.

Overcoming the Challenges

Starting a new job in an entirely unfamiliar industry was overwhelming. The first few months were tough—I had to adjust to A-Tech’s protocols and the demands of fieldwork. However, I quickly realized that A-Tech’s structured training program and supportive team made all the difference.

I asked countless questions, absorbed knowledge from experienced technicians with different work styles, and learned the full process—from the initial sales call to the final report. Once I grasped the workflow, everything began to fall into place. The key was persistence and being open to learning.

Finding Purpose and Growth

What truly sets A-Tech apart is its culture of support—not just on good days but especially during challenging ones. The work can be demanding, but with proper training and a strong team, I found a sense of fulfillment. Leadership at A-Tech is patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in employees’ success. This commitment to growth has helped me—and many others—flourish.

Beyond professional development, I’ve built lasting friendships that have made my transition into A-Tech’s culture seamless. The team is dynamic, energetic, and forward-thinking. Everyone pushes each other to improve, making for a workplace that is both challenging and rewarding.

Joining A-Tech has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It wasn’t always easy, but the challenges I faced ultimately shaped me into the professional I am today. The unwavering support I received has motivated me to do the same for others. Whether it’s fieldwork, data entry on ES2, or sharing personal experiences, I believe in paying it forward to those looking to grow and navigate their own journey.
