AIR QUALITY CONCERNS

A client was receiving employee concerns about the air quality in one of their large municipal facilities. In order to ensure a safe work environment and prevent any potential lost work time through employee absences, the client had A-Tech provide them with an extensive Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) investigation throughout the building. The assessment concluded that the HVAC system throughout the building needed to be thoroughly cleaned by a professional HVAC cleaning contractor.

MONITORING DURING HVAC CLEANING

A-Tech’s technician monitored all aspects of the HVAC duct cleaning project. The contractor started on the roof and worked their way down to each floor below. Daily logs were kept by A-Tech, which documented the clean-up activities performed by the contractor, which detailed all of the engineering methods used during this project to minimize dust emissions and cross contamination. Air monitoring for respirable particulates was conducted by A-Tech during each shift in the locations where the duct cleaning was taking place. All air sampling data was presented to the client throughout the project. No elevated dust levels were present during the project. Once the ducts were cleaned A-Tech was happy to return the building back knowing the air quality had been improved and the employees were happy to be working in a clean and breathable environment once again
